DON’T MISS THIS ONE : preview by Tony Zeffert.
The walk starts from the Leyland Arms in the unbelievably pretty setting of Llanelidan. After passing the medieval church with its almost Mexican style double bell tower we descend the lane and take the path past the cute little cricket pavilion and into the most magnificent rolling countryside.
Some of the walk skirts the impressive Nantclwyd Hall with glimpses of fine gardens and huge estate, some of which we walk through. There are fantastic panoramic views in all directions and points of interest abound. The walk is five miles and is easy enough although there are many stiles and one or two ascents. You do not notice these however, because of the marvellously varied scenery. The total walk should take about three and a half hours and we should be back home by 5.00pm in plenty of time for Yom Tov.
